BMX Bikes are specially designed bicycles for racing on sandy and hilly tracks. Apart from racing on hilly terrains, BMX bikers also perform tricks on flat grounds, wooden ramps and trails.
Earlier, bikes were manufactured with an assembled frame and fork, with two wheels and a seat. BMX bicycles originated in the state of California in the late 60?s but it was not before the beginning of 1961, that the bikes achieved popularity, and the manufacturers began to produce BMX bicycles frequently.
BMX tricks and stunts are now very popular among the teenagers. There are numerous clubs and organizations where people can come and try their hands out on the BMX bicycles and practice the skills and tricks. With these early practices, the young bikers get acquainted with the probable problems that may occur during the ramp performances.
BMX tricks are not at all easy for any biker. The stunts are quite tough to perform. You should undergo tough rehearsals, in order to get fully ready. Some of the difficult tricks are like standing on the front pegs, and spinning the rest of the bike around. The skillful bikers can even summersault in air. So, these are tricks that can be gripped after a long practice session.
While riding the BMX bicycles, you would need ample of protection. You must protect your elbows, knees and most importantly your head with the helmet. If you are interested in having a primary look at the toughest BMX competitions, then the X games on various sports channels can help you out.
The Designs Of BMX Bicycles
The main features of a BMX bike: 1. Straight tubes 2. Gusseted frames 3. Reinforced handlebars 4. Powerful mag wheels 5. Long crankarms 6. Steel rims 7. Coaster brakes
The BMX bike producers manufacture bikes with light body. The body of a BMX bike is made of aluminum or chromium and molybdenum for frames and steel for the rims. Aluminum is also used for rims, freewheels and caliper brakes. The 24-inch versions of BMX bicycles are called ?Cruisers?.
The frames on BMX bicycles are made to be very light and maneuvered accordingly, so that it can weather the blows while racing and jumping. Moreover, a light bike can save your minutes, in a close fought BMX race.
The tiers of BMX bicycles are quite different from the road bikes. They are knobby with excellent traction and power. Another aspect that distinguishes the BMX tires from the others is the construction of their wheels. Generally the rims are of 20 inches, but there can be different sizes too.
Sometimes the BMX bicycles fall hard on the ground; that is why, the manufacturers have introduced ?Cro Moly? tube sets to the BMX bicycles. A BMX bike with smaller gear set-ups reduce the weight of the bikes by using chain rings, smaller rear drivers, and shorter chain length.
Sales of BMX bicycles are much higher than the other ones. Bikes can be seen with every fashionable bike rider, on sidewalks and in their natural habitat. Instead of competing with anyone, a simple ride would be much more comfortable. While riding you have to be very conscious, and should not make too much experiments with your tricks. Don?t forget to wear a helmet whenever you are riding.
Thus, the BMX bicycles are both, fashionable and powerful, providing you the ultimate passion for fashionable biking.

Want to impress the chick you pass on your way to work daily, who just gape on the hunks riding motorcycles? But alas you are neither a hunk nor can you afford to buy a motorcycle now. Here pocket street bikes come to your rescue, I mean rescuing the eyes of the girl from other guys to feast on you. Does it sounds too good to be true? Then wait! There are more to come!
The World Of Pocket Street Bike
A pocket street bike is petite and sleek versions of a motorcycle. A ride on a pocket street bike will provide you with the same thrill of biking on a motorcycle. Most of the pocket bikes are exact copy of the racing motorcycles in craftsmanship, proportion and detail. So pocket bikes have all the gears of a full-scale motorbike like racing tires, twist grip, lightweight alloy frame, disc brakes and acceleration control.
These bikes run on either gas or electric. There is an option of buying kits to modify this bike into an open class machine. The gasoline powered road bikes reach up to a speed of 35mph or even 50 mph in an open class machine. The electric run bikes are recharged with rechargeable batteries.
About Racing
The pocket bikes are used for races, in Australia, it is developed into a race unto itself christened ?minimoto? racing. However, some people say that this races originated in Italy.
Now Some Good Scoops About Pocket Bikes
Other than creating impressions on pretty girls, pocket bikes have other pros too, like:
A pocket street bike, because of its small figure, can be cuddled into any small space and it is not difficult to store this bike, but remember to store it properly in any garage or shed.
A pocket street is good for racing which provides some sparkling fun. As these bikes are small the ride should be confined to secluded spaces free from dangers and heavy traffic.
The Safety Measures
Ride the bike equipped with proper riding gear like helmets and elbow pads, kneepads gloves and shoes to prevent injuries.
Take due care of yourself and other pedestrians and motorists while driving.
The Legal Side About Your Pocket Street Bike
Though a pocket street bike is meant for streets, in most of the states riding a pocket street bike on public streets is not legal. Check the legal provisions before buying a pocket street bike.
Some Tips
Communicate with your local Department Of Motor Vehicles and check whether you can ride your pocket street bike on street. If riding is permitted then find out other requirements that should be met before bringing the pocket street bike on street. Also, ask which roads are legal for a pocket street bike.
Then you have to check the minimum age for driving a pocket street bike on street. Ask the DMV about licensing information as well. Get an insurance company to insure your pocket bike and get a registration and a license plate for your bike.
Clear up these bumps and just set on for an exciting journey.

A specialized mountain bike is one that has especially been customized to meet the requirements of the rider. These bikes have customized parts and accessories added to a basic version. Adding or making a small change can make a significant difference in the comfort of the biking experience.
A specialized bike can either be ordered directly from a dealer or can be customized at home by ordering the necessary parts and accessories. However, it is advisable that customizing a mountain bike yourself should only be undertaken if you are an experienced mountain biker and are aware of the various options available. If you are a beginner and mainly indulge in mountain biking as a leisure activity, a basic mountain bike model without customization should be adequate. With growing experience and knowledge, you will be in a better position to customize your own bike.
Mountain bike specialization could include improving the bike?s performance by adding more and better parts, or improving its looks. There is no shortage of mountain bike parts that you can buy. To customize your bike, you can add new brakes, pedals, gears or handlebars. You can change its frame, suspension system or tires. You can also make your bike trendier and flashier by painting it the color of your choice. The sales staff will try to sell you anything they can but you need to decide what parts are needed to make your rides safe and enjoyable and what parts may be added simply to make the bike look cool.
There is virtually no limit to the amount of money you can spend on customizing your mountain bike. It is advisable to figure out what price range you are willing to pay for the various parts and try to look for parts that fit your budget, to keep your spending under control.

Motorbike owners tend to love the thrill of the open road. For many, it’s one of the great attractions of owning a motorcycle. You might wonder how state of the art technology could help.
The freedom provided by a motorbike is what many bike owners buy into. These machines allow people the freedom to roam, exploring the great outdoors and enjoying being out in the elements.
Many like to do this as a joint activity, taking along a partner as a passenger. This sounds ideal – a great shared activity.
Over the years it has become clear that there is one rather large problem in this situation: it’s almost impossible for two people to have a conversation on the back of a motorbike.
The problem is largely caused by noise. Being in a position where you’re close to a roaring engine is one of the great joys of being a rider and yet that same noise hampers any attempt to speak to your passenger.
Once you add in the road noise, plus disruption caused by wind and rain, it’s clear to see that this type of situation is not really conducive to a talkative day out.
While car drivers find it easy to talk to passengers and can even benefit from having mobile phone conversations, bike riders have been left out of the loop.
Until now, that is. Things are finally starting to change, thanks in no small part to the development of bluetooth technology.
Bluetooth was originally developed as a means of allowing two pieces of hardware to communicate without the need for cables or wires. This is what is known as wireless communications.
In the case of motorbikes, it is used in headsets which can be provided to riders and passengers. These headsets allow them to communicate with each other, removing the background noise that would otherwise make things difficult.
Even more impressively, when used in conjunction with a bluetooth enabled mobile phone, they allow a motorcycle owner to conduct mobile phone conversations
, meaning that they can always be in touch with others.

Riding bikes is a good way to pass a Saturday afternoon in the park or along trails in your neighborhood. It is fun for the entire family. Keep your children protected while they ride their bikes with you or with their friends.
Wear safety gear. Fatal injuries sustained in bicycle accidents are due to the rider not wearing a helmet for protection. Helmets come in all sizes and colors so they can be stylish for the discerning young rider. Helmets should fit the child without being too snug. A loose fitting helmet could turn during wear and block the child?s vision leading to an accident. Children should wear elbow and knee pads as well. This is especially important for a new rider who is not completely comfortable with their balance on a bike. Sandals and other open toed shoes should not be worn during bike rides. Any shoe that has a slippery sole that cannot grip the pedal should be avoided. For children?s bikes, the brakes are controlled by pushing the pedals backwards. Improper shoes may prohibit braking which creates a dangerous situation for your child. Safety gear should be worn each time the child rides their bike.
Make sure that the bicycle is adjusted well for the child. The child should be able to reach the handlebars without leaning forward. Leaning forward puts undue strain on the lower back. The bicycle seat should be tightened to where it doesn?t swivel and should be at a height where the child can place their feet flat on the ground when they are sitting still. The chain should be secured and not in danger of coming loose and falling off. Bicycle tires should be inflated to the proper pressure for safe riding on all terrain.
Your child should wear white or a light color if they will be out late riding their bike. Bicycle riders are knocked off of their bikes by motorists when the motorist can?t see them in the dim light of the evening. To increase their visibility, wearing light colored clothing is recommended. Bikes should be outfitted with reflectors on the front and the back. Safety vests with reflective strips can be purchased for wear during the evening.
When bike riding with traffic or in a neighborhood, it is important to know the rules concerning how one should ride. Never cross an intersection or busy street without looking both ways. A car that comes suddenly around a corner may not see your child?s bike in the road until it is too late. If your road has a designated bicycle lane, use it. It is there to keep you out of harm?s way from the passing cars. Bicycle riders should stay in a single file line when riding on the side of the street. Make sure that your child does not ride too close to parked cars. A motorist may open a door suddenly or back up and knock your child off of their bike.
Do not ride against the flow of traffic. Know proper hand signals. Where there are no traffic lights, your hand signals will let motorists know that you are about to make a turn. The signal for a left turn is to extend the left arm straight out to the side with the palm facing forward. A right turn signal uses the left arm again only it is bent upwards at the elbow with the palm facing forward. A right turn can be signaled with the right hand extended and the palm down. The sign for stop is made with the left arm bent at the elbow in a downward position with the palm facing the rear.
Bike riding provides family time as well as exercise for your child. To keep the fun going, make sure that they take all safety precautions when riding. Teach them to ride with others in mind.

Road bikes or racing bikes are designed to go as fast as possible while making sure of the rider?s safety. They are mostly featured as skeletons of bicycles, but there is a reason why it looks so bare. This is because everything is toned down in order to save weight and improve aerodynamics, which is crucial if you want to go as fast as you can. These two factors will help give more speed. There are many gears for the racing bikes, but they are clustered together so that the biker can choose immediately which gear to use for the occasion. Its riding position is hunched over to offer less wind resistance. Some will favor drop handlebars, which will cost the rider to hunch over more. The tires are very thin and very high pressured, and one mistake on a hole can puncture it. Types of Racing Bikes There are several types of racing bikes. The most common is the standard racing bike, which is perfect for road riding. The riding position is hunched over, but still high enough which enables the rider to see where he is going. It is also very fast. Another would be the time trial bike, which is designed to go as fast as possible around a circuit or an oval on a closed-off road. The riders are very much hunched over. Some would prefer the use of extensions on the handlebars for added comfort, to get a better grip on the handles and to get their hands forward. Others would still attach smaller front wheels to modify the riding position to something even lower than the usual. Another would be the track racing bike, which is raced indoors on oval circuits. There is a single fixed gear with no brakes. A rider can only stop by slowing down the way he pedals, and the gear makes it impossible to suddenly stop pedaling. This racing bike is stripped down to the absolute minimum with no extras to make it lighter and faster. Remarks for the Racing Bikes On the plus side, racing bikes are very fast. The slick tires offer very little drag on the road, and the aerodynamic position keeps the wind drag to a minimum. On the other hand, because the bicycle is very skinny, it is often called as uncomfortable by other riders. The tires do not absorb much of the vibration when it comes to rough surfaces, and the hunched-over position can be very painful to the neck, back, and wrists. Whatever your speed thrill though, the racing bike will probably outstrip it. Racing bikes are fast, light, and very versatile. They can pass through very narrow places and leave that police car in the dust. If ever things get sticky, racing bike rider will just pull his throttle downward, and the next you will see is the dust in your eyes. Buying Racing Bikes If you are interested in buying a racing bike, you can look for websites offering such in the Internet. You can also look at newspaper ads and bicycle magazines. They feature racing bikes for sale that there will so many for you to choose from. You have to remember though that if you are going to buy it online, you should check first if the website is legitimate so as not to waste money. Article Tags: bikes, position, racing
